Trust yourself. You know more than you think, and your voice deserves to be heard.

Saying “no” is not selfish, it’s essential for your mental health and business growth.

Courses, coaching, wellness, skincare, and personal growth aren’t expenses—they’re investments.

Build genuine relationships. Befriend people who work in your niche as well as those outside it—authentic connections create long-term opportunities.

Every misstep teaches you something you didn’t know before.

You can’t do it all. Hiring the right people frees you to focus on your strengths.

Your business thrives when you do. Sleep, exercise, and downtime are non-negotiable. I also highly recommend Don’t Mess with Stress by my good friend Dr. Jill Baron—it’s packed with practical strategies to manage stress and protect your energy while building your business.

Gut feelings aren’t fluff—they’re data from your lived experience.

Recognize your progress, even if it feels incremental. Momentum matters.

Focus on your journey, not someone else’s highlight reel.

Understand your value and don’t apologize for charging what you’re worth.

Progress comes from showing up regularly, not getting it “perfect” every time. Remember than done is better than perfect.

Opportunities are powerful, but only if they align with your vision.

Surround yourself with people who uplift, challenge, and inspire you.

Flexibility is the secret sauce of successful girl bosses.

Don’t wait for others to notice, acknowledge your accomplishments big or small.

Protect it like money. Invest it wisely. Your 30s are the decade to stop trading time for money whenever possible: build systems, create digital products, and explore passive income streams so you’re not stuck in a constant hustle cycle. Freedom comes from designing a business that works for you, even when you’re offline.

Be consistent, authentic, and unapologetically you. Your only job is to show up as yourself.

Seeking guidance is strength, not weakness.

Not every client, opportunity, or partnership is meant to last.

Stay curious, read, attend workshops, and evolve. I was lucky to graduate from university in 2016, but I’ve learned that education doesn’t end with a diploma. I’m always trying to learn new things, especially now, in a time when technology evolves daily. Staying curious and keeping up with new tools, apps, and trends is key to staying relevant and innovative as a creator and entrepreneur.

I’ll be honest, I’m a natural pessimist, but I’m always working on shifting my mindset. The energy you put out impacts your team, your clients, and even your own motivation. Choosing positivity (even on tough days) can completely change the way opportunities flow to you. Positive energy attracts the right clients, team, and opportunities.

Support your peers; a rising tide lifts all boats.

People buy from people, not just products. I’ve learned that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools you can develop—it’s something I’m always working on myself. If you want to connect with your audience on a deeper level, I highly recommend reading The Science of Storytelling by Will Storr. It’s a game-changer.

Flexibility allows you to seize unexpected opportunities. Strategy matters, but leave room for spontaneity. Hopping on trends that align with your brand can skyrocket your visibility, think trending TikTok audios, pop culture moments like Brat Summer, and memes your audience will love. A little flexibility can lead to a lot more reach.

A strong body and mind are the foundation of sustainable success. Try to find an activity you genuinely love, like I did when I returned to tennis with my husband after 15 years. I absolutely love it! It’s a fun excuse to exercise outdoors, much better than going to the gym alone for me. If working out with a buddy is more your vibe, find one; you might get obsessed too!

They refine you. Learn, adjust, and keep moving.

Daily reflection keeps perspective and motivation alive. You can also create a vision board; Pinterest is amazing for finding inspiration and visualizing your goals.

You can be ambitious, nurturing, stylish, kind, and bold all at once.

Embrace this decade with courage, clarity, and unapologetic ambition.

Your 30s are the perfect mix of experience and possibility. Each lesson is a stepping stone to the woman & the business you’re meant to become. Take these lessons, own them, and continue showing the world what a girl boss can do.
